In the grimey alley, Mr Whiskers takes the small leather-bound book of forbidden knowledge from the black goat and stows it away. Later, he opens the book and reads about spells and incantations that could grant him immense power, but senses a dark energy emanating from the pages. The rain falls lightly, and the alley is lit by a flickering lightbulb. A minidisc lies nearby.
